Sunday, September 15 FLORENCE / ARRIVAL (D)
Arrival at Florence Airport, meet with our private bus.
Transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Monday, September 16 FLORENCE (B / L)
Breakfast. Today we explore the city during a half-day panoramic city tour (with local guide) including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and other stops. Lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch we will walk to the St. Lawrence Market for leather goods and shopping OR you can return to the hotel. The balance of this day is at leisure.
Overnight at our hotel.

Tuesday, September 17 FLORENCE / LUCCA / GENOA (B / D)
Breakfast. Transfer to Lucca, where we will have free time to explore this well-preserved city with its Renaissance walls encircling the historic city center and its cobblestone streets. Broad, tree-lined pathways along the tops of these massive 16th- and 17th-century ramparts are popular for strolling and cycling. Casa di Puccini, where the great opera composer was born, is now a house museum. Independent lunch here before we depart for Genoa and our hotel check-in.
Dinner and overnight.

Wednesday, September 18 LA SPEZIA-SESTRI LEVANTE / CINQUE TERRE / LA SPEZIA-SESTRI (B / D)
Breakfast. Today we enjoy a full day of visits (with a local guide) in the Cinque Terre National Park, one of the most wonderful landscapes in Italy characterized by the vineyards growing on the hillsides of the five fishing villages comprising the Park (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso).
Dinner and overnight.

Thursday, September 19 LA SPEZIA-SESTRI LEVANTE AREA / MILAN (B / D)
Breakfast. Transfer to Milan. Independent lunch along the way. This afternoon we meet our local city guide and visit a part of Milan called “Navigli”; aptly named because of the Naviglio Grande Canal. Here we will stroll along the boulevards and see the charming little shops, bars and restaurants.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Friday, September 20 MILAN (B / D)
Breakfast. Today we meet our local guide for a full day panoramic city tour: in the morning we visit the Duomo (entrance included) with its Square, the Scala Theatre (external visit), the elegant street Corso Vittorio Emanuele, etc. In the afternoon we continue our tour visiting the Porta Nuova District, recently renovated to become the Milan's most futuristic area, redesigning and redefining both its skyline and character. We will also see Piazza Gae Aulenti where we can enjoy a unique view, the Vertical Wood, the Diamant Tower and the Palazzo Lombardia. Dinner at a local Restaurant.
Overnight at our hotel.

Saturday, September 21 MILAN / LAKE MAGGIORE (B / L)
Breakfast. Transfer to Lake Maggiore. Today we enjoy a boat excursion to one of Ernest Hemingway’s favourite places: the Borromeo Islands; considered among the prettiest islands in Italy. With our local guide we visit Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori. Lunch at Isola dei Pescatori .
Overnight at our local hotel.

Sunday, September 22 LAKE MAGGIORE / LUGANO / LAKE MAGGIORE (B / D)
Breakfast and transfer to Lugano. We will meet our local guide here and enjoy a ½ day tour of the Lake and the historic city center, with its Mediterranean-style squares and buildings. We will also have time to stroll along the beautiful lake, before returning to Lake Maggiore.
Dinner and overnight.

Monday, September 23 LAKE MAGGIORE / VERONA / BOLZANO AREA (B / D)
Breakfast. On to Verona where, with a local guide, we visit the city of Romeo and Juliet, including Juliet's balcony, the famous Arena, the ornate tombs of the Scaligeri family and the Church of St.Zeno (external visits). Here we will also enjoy a winery visit with tasting.
We then continue to Bolzano for accommodation dinner and overnight.

Tuesday, September 24 BOLZANO / BRUNICO / ALTA BADIA - CORVARA / BOLZANO AREA (B / L)
Breakfast. On to Brunico, meet our local guide, and explore the historic center. We then continue to Corvara and spend some free time near the Dolomites. Lunch at a local Restaurant.
At the end of the afternoon, transfer back to Bolzano for overnight.

Wednesday, September 25 BOLZANO / ORTISEI / SELVA VAL GARDENA / BOLZANO AREA (B / D)
Breakfast. This morning at Ortisei (with a local guide) we will see the Church of San Giacomo and the Mills important for the history of this little town. Continue to Selva Val Gardena where we enjoy some free time in this enchanting Dolomite town. Late in the afternoon, transfer back to Bolzano where we will enjoy a typical dinner at a local Restaurant.
Overnight.

Thursday, September 26 BOLZANO / VENICE (MESTRE) (B / D)
Breakfast. Mid-morning transfer to the Mestre area. The balance of our day is at leisure or we can continue to Venice for an open afternoon in the city.
Dinner and overnight in our hotel in Mestre.

Friday, September 27 VENICE (B / D)
Breakfast. Transfer by Vaporetto Boat to St. Mark's Square. Here we meet our local guide and enjoy a half-day panoramic tour including St. Mark's Square and St. Mark's Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs and Dodge's Palace (exterior). In the afternoon we will enjoy a gondola ride (what visit to Venice would be complete without one).
Farewell dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Saturday, September 28 VENICE / DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast. On time transfer to the airport for check-in and our departure flight back home.

About George Cifa - Our Tour Manager

George has travelled, arranged and escorted groups extensively to Italy, most of Europe, Israel, South America, Australia and Mexico.

George was born in Italy and arrived in Canada in January 1949. He graduated from High School in St. Marys, June of 1962 and worked a year before heading to University in the States. Directly from University in 1967, George went to work for Canada's airline. In 1970 George opened (in St. Marys) a branch office of a travel agency in Toronto. George escorted and arranged his first group tour in 1970. After 10 years working in various sections of Air Canada he decided to go into full time travel agency owner operator, opening a main branch in Stratford. George also operated Travel Merchant Tours and, with over 50 years of travel industry experience, Yearly George escorts over 6 groups including multiple groups to Italy.
